Getlitafrica is an online all-encompassing arts opportunities platform that includes movies, poetry, prose, visual arts, music, comedy, and literature. We share variety of art related opportunities such as fellowships and scholarships for people in the art field to explore and advance their career.

We have carried out projects such as spoken word poetry competitions and art exhibitions that build capacity, discovering emerging African artist(e)s in the process. We are passionate about building an all-inclusive Art community of budding and experienced youths by engaging them with the resources, training and mentorship needed to advance their craft.

Objectives

Utilize art and poetry competition

Utilize art and poetry competitions, content creation, movie productions, and art exhibitions to bring together professional and upcoming artists and other stakeholders.

Build up an Art community

Build up an Art community using mentorship programs and online masterclasses and help train upcoming artist(e)s build guided career paths them. This bridges the skills and craft deficit in the industry and by extension, improves the gdp of the economy since our target audience are the youths and creatives.

Share valuable information and resources

Share valuable information and resources with all creative professionals to ignite ideas and grant them access to international funding, residencies and fellowships.

Team

Obi Ifejika

Obi Ifejika is a poet recognised by Arts Council England and a 2025-26 Nine Arches Press Dynamo mentee. Her work moves through performance, theatre, film and page, with international commissions and presentations across festivals and institutions such as the United Nations, British Council and Goethe- Institut.

Iyanu Adebiyi

Iyanu Adebiyi is an award-winning writer, poet, and spoken word artist whose work has received international acclaim. Awarded by the Presidency of Nigeria and the American Consulate, she has been listed among the top 10 spoken word poets in Nigeria, the 99 most influential artists in the country by YNaija, and among the top 10 Black spoken word artists globally. Her spoken word album, Wonder, received great commendation and her work has been featured on several local and international platforms, including BBC Kent UK, CBN Africa, ICIR, Isele Magazine, Daily Trust, AIT. She has also been published in Brittle Paper, African Writer, and The Best Spiritual Literature Anthology by Orison Books, among others. Her work has been translated into Spanish (Convivir Poesia- Jam Sessions in Madrid) and Yoruba. She has also been commissioned by institutions such as the University of Bayreuth Germany, Korean Embassy, the Association of Vice Chancellors of Nigerian Universities, the University of Global Health Equity Rwanda, NACA, among others. A respected voice in the poetry and literary community, Iyanu has judged major competitions like ALITFEST and LIPFEST and mentored several young writers.

Charles Inojie

Charles Inojie is a Nigerian filmmaker widely recognized for his works in various Nollywood movies as a writer, actor, producer and director. He is highly acclaimed for his role as  Mr. Johnson in the popular Nigerian TV series, The Johnsons. He began his acting career in 2000 after graduating from the University of Port Harcourt where he bagged a professional Certificate in Acting [CTA] in 1993 and a degree in Theatre Arts [B.A Hons] in 1999. He has since become a prominent figure in Nollywood. In addition to acting, he has also made a name for himself in writing, directing, and producing movies. Notable works include, *The Johnsons*, a family sitcom often touted as Africa’s most popular show on television where he gained widespread recognition for his portrayal of the lead character "Mr. Johnson," a strict and comical father figure in the family sitcom. His other film credits amongst numerous others include: HIS HOLINESS, CORPORATE MAID, LOVE AFFAIR, THE GAMBLERS, THE TRADE, I AM ANIS, MY VILLAGE PEOPLE, SWEET POISON, GEN-Z INLAW, DIVIDED NATIONS. Etc, etc.
