The 2026 John Ruskin Prize

Who may enter
The competition is open to artists, designers and makers, both amateur and professional, of all nationalities, aged 18 and over.

Short description

The John Ruskin Prize is organised by The Big Draw, a charity based in London.

″ The Prize welcomes works in all mediums, including drawing, painting, print, sculpture, photography, textile, animation, mixed media, digital, performance, installation and more.

All submissions need to respond to the theme Not for Present Delight.

You can submit work in any medium, however submissions must be digital in format as work will be viewed and judged digitally.

Submissions can be made through the online entry portal.

Entry fees
Standard entry: 1 artwork: £25; 2 artworks: £40; 3 artworks: £50
Under 26 entry: 1 artwork: £20; 2 artworks: £30; 3 artworks: £38
International entry: 1 artwork; £15: 2 artworks: £20; 3 artworks: £30

Prizes
• 1st Prize: £3000
• The Alan Davidson Under 26 Prize: £1000
• Ruskin Mill Trust Prize: Awarded for a beautifully crafted functional object: £3,000
• Chelsea Arts Club Trust Prize for mid-career artists: £2,500
